Lactobacillus Acidophilus
and Other Probiotics Supplements

Probiotics are our friendly intestinal bacteria such as Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidus. The intestinal flora is a crucial element in the total health picture of an individual. The colon could be compared to a compost bin. It helps to decompose the waste products, which then sets the stage for new life. Two of the most damaging substances to this delicate intestinalflora balance are chlorine and sodium fluoride, present in most treated city water, and thus in most beverages which one gets at restaurants. Chlorinated and fluoridated water also forms the base of most soda drinks. The drinking of alcoholic beverages also contributes to the destruction of the intestinal flora. Medical antibiotics, birth control pills and many other allopathic drugs cause damage to the intestinal flora and the tissue in the intestinal wall.

Remember that the eating of beef, chicken and pork can be harmful due to the antibiotics and growth enhancers given to the animals. When you eat animal products, you also consume their diet and the effects of their lifestyle. Meat also in and of itself tends to putrefy rapidly in the intestines if our peristalsis (muscular contractions of the intestines) is not working as it should, which it is not in most individuals due to insufficient fiber in the diet. As the meat putrefies, it promotes the growth of unfriendly bacteria in the intestines. Our colon can maintain its health with 15% unfriendly bacteria, if the body contains at least 85% probiotic friendly bacteria. Most people have this percentage reversed. The addition of Acidophilus and Bifidus to one's cleansing program may help to re-establish proper intestinal flora balance.

Probiotics have the following benefits:
Acidify the colon to inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria (such as salmonella, shigella, E. coli, and others); normalize bowel movements, which helps decrease the time it takes for end products of metabolism to move through the digestive system; stop diarrhea and constipation; eliminates gas and bloating in the intestines; reduce bad breath caused by an unclean bowel; restore the production of Vitamin K and B Vitamins, especially Vitamin B12, in the intestines; release their own natural antibiotics which combat the unfriendly intestinal bacteria and Candida - these natural antibiotics with no known side effects even enter our blood stream and can combat systemic infections (infections in the body beyond the intestines).
